Now I'm wondering if you have caught yourself feeling your thinking since last time *lol*... I surely did when I lost my passport the other day!! No worries, I found it after five minutes of roller coaster search, but wasn't it funny, as if it was only to underpin my last newsletter's subject!! Which brings me right to part two: we can rely on that.... Thought changes!!
Have you ever tried remembering somebody's new telephone number?! Or how to get to a place where you have never been before?! Are we not inclined to write it down or print the map to being able to remember for a longer period of time?! If we have no paper at hand, we would keep repeating the number or directions in our mind to keep it fresh, so we don't forget?! Then sometimes we tried really hard to remember, but it just disappeared from our mind....... like our dreams more often than not and for most people: in the moment of waking up we remember and then one minute later it is gone!!

Try to focus on one single thing for a while.... Don't you find that distracting thoughts come and we have to bring our attention back to the subject, again and again. It seems like that thoughts are floating through us and we can easily get carried away following another thought instead of focussing on the subject. In those circumstances this fact about thoughts might be annoying and we wish we could focus better on something or remember things easier.
But when we look at situations where our thinking gives us unpleasant feelings, it is quite handy to rely on its nature to change!! Lets take the situation of me loosing my passport the other day... When I realized the passport was not where I thought it was, my heart sunk right to the bottom, I started panicking as I needed the passport NOW!! I was quickly scanning through the folder with all the other papers I also had to take and all I could find, was my old invalid passport.
Then I suddenly thought, hang on, I am just feeling my thinking here and I calmed down a little bit. I also thought, if it is gone, then it is gone, no need to panic, panicking doesnt bring the passport back, but if I stay calm I might come up with an idea where it could be. So just for a split second I gained some distance to the situation. And in that gap new thinking appeared out of the blue...... I turned the papers upside down and there was my passport right on the bottom (because I suddenly remembered that it was on the top of the folder when I first opened it ;-)
Fresh thinking appears naturally, if we allow thoughts to flow. Instead of believing the thoughts of having lost the passport I gained a bit of distance in stepping back from the experience in realizing that my feelings only came from the power of Thought. And the intelligence behind life just lifted me up to a higher level of consciousness, where wiser thinking appeared. And immediately I started laughing about myself. And this is not a "doing", but a natural process, it happens automatically, we are doing it all the time... It is simply the built-in system of how our human mind works. Always.
Well, I hope you can relate to that and catch yourself doing it... it is always happening within us, whether we are aware of it or not. But once we truly see it, we can use it to our advantage.
