... there are a million different ways to experience it! Whether we suffer from physical pain or not, does depend on our thinking. We can not always choose what we think in any given moment but we can be aware THAT we always think and where our experience is coming from... The difference is: we feel at the mercy of pain or not.
A good example is my mother. She has been suffering with pain in her feet on and off for years. When I was in Berlin last October she had great difficulties walking because of severe pain in one foot and was limping more or less all the time. One day we were running late to go to an appointment and we had to run to catch a bus. She was laughing her head off when I mentioned to her afterwards, that she ran like "a young one" and we indeed managed to get on the bus. During the journey I asked her if her foot was not hurting and she looked at me and said "actually........ no!" amazing, she had actually forgotten about it LOL afterwards she was limping again. How can that be?!
What do we make of the pain once we "know" it is there? It must be there until we forget because we got something better to do (= running to catch a bus). But how real is the pain in the first place?? We don't believe it can just go away until it does..... Once diagnosed we might think it can not be cured. Like my Mum, her doctor is convinced she needs to live with this chronic pain until the end of her days and it will only get worse because the condition is degenerative... Guess what, I had her here in Spain in March and she had a treatment which helped to loosen up the ligaments and muscles in her foot a bit and within an hour she was walking pain-free!! How can that be, if the X-ray actually shows the bones being so badly damaged from arthritis, that walking pain-free should be impossible?! She thought it was a miracle!!

And I then told her about the power of Thought. Any thought we happen to have comes alive in our experience via the power of Consciousness, like a movie appears on a screen because the light of the projector shines through the pictures of the film. We live in such a movie all the time, whatever we experience! It is so simple that we overlook it....... If we don't like the movie, we have the chance to just swap channels at any given moment and everything appears in different light!! Even physical pain does!! How about you, can you remember a situation where your experience of a physical symptom shifted naturally without an actual change of circumstances?!
